Us
The GirlSite Network GirlSite is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a multi-media network community for women and girls. It allows them to use their voices through programs and relationships that empower them to develop their individual strengths and unlimited potential. First launched in 1997 by Holly Holmberg Brooks, GirlSite.org saw the opportunity to give local and national organizations a presence on the World Wide Web, and had the desire to link these various organizations to the vast and varied world helping make a difference in girls’ lives and others around them. GirlSite.org was considered one of the only early safe sites for young women. As part of the Generator Interactive Network, GirlSite.org now has thousands of active members in the United States and abroad who participate in supervised, members-only chats, web journalism, pen pal programs, technological seminars, active community participation through volunteerism and much more.
