Who are Serena, Venus and Oracene Williams
Serena was born on September 26, 1981. In 1999 Serena claimed five titles including the US Open (where she managed to overcome the experienced trio of Hingis, Davenport and Seles on her way to the crown). Serena missed out on the singles at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, but still achieved a gold medal with her sister in the doubles. And in 2002, Serena picked up the French Open and Wimbledon titles. Besides being a awesome athlete Serena is also involved with the OWL foundation, which was founded by her mother Oracene and addresses learning problems.

Venus was born on June 20, 1980. Venus won the Wimbledon, and the US Open Championships back to back. Also in 2000, had one of the longest winning streaks, 35 matches, with a Olympic Gold medal in both doubles and singles. In 1999, she won more than 60 matches in a season for the first time. Venus went on to win in Oklahoma City on February 28, 1999 the same day her sister, Serena, won the Paris Indoors, and they became the first sisters in professional tennis history to win singles titles in the same week.
Besides being a awesome athlete Serena is also involved with the OWL foundation, which was founded by her mother Oracene and addresses learning problems.


Oracene founded the OWL Foundation to encourage the interest in education that is important to all the members of their family. The OWL Foundation funds programs that address the learning problems of individuals who are experiencing academic failure. The Foundation's mission is to ensure that every child is treated individually and provided the opportunity to learn.

The OWL Foundation was founded in 1999 by Oracene Williams. The OWL Foundation was founded to fund programs that address learning problems for individuals who experience academic failure. Its mission is to ensure that every child is treated individually and to provide the opportunity to learn.

Funding and Scholarship History: The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale has supported The OWL Foundation since 1999 by awarding a $10,000.00 scholarship to one of its students. Both Venus Williams and Serena Williams attend the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. In 2001 the recipient of this $10,000.00 scholarship was Ebony Patterson.

In 2002, The OWL Foundation adopted Mary McCloud Bethune School in Palm Beach County and purchased $50,000.00 worth of computers that were provided to various schools in Palm Beach County. The OWL Foundation is identifying youth education programs to support in Collier County from funds raised during the 2003 JPMorgan Chase Tennis Challenge. The OWL Foundation provides special education assistance to the students selected by the school.
